Twenty years ago, SoliD Plants started with a simple yet strong passion: the Japanese Maple (Acer).
Starting with just 1,000 m² of greenhouse space, we began propagating these special trees. What started on a small scale has grown over the past twenty years into a specialized nursery covering 21,000 m². Yet one thing has remained unchanged throughout the years: our love for the plant and our continuous focus on quality.
Over the past twenty years, we have continuously developed our knowledge, expertise, and range. We are always looking for ways to improve — not only the quality and diversity of our Japanese Maples, but also the way we grow them.

Our approach to cultivation has evolved with us. In the past, we used chemical products to control diseases and pests. Today, we work with biological solutions and natural methods. For us, progress is not only about innovation, but also about treating nature and the world around us with care and responsibility.
Every day, Jos van Meuwen and Arjan Keijzer, together with our dedicated team, work with great pleasure, craftsmanship, and passion on our Japanese Maples. From propagating young plants (grafts) to caring for them, growing them on, and ultimately delivering the finished product with care.
Every Japanese Maple that leaves SoliD Plants has been produced by us and carefully nurtured by us.
We believe that growing plants is about more than producing a beautiful tree. It requires attention, craftsmanship, and patience. It means understanding the plant, creating the right conditions, and giving it the space it needs to develop its natural character.
At the same time, we recognize that true growth is ultimately beyond our control. Every plant is a masterpiece of creation, displaying a beauty and complexity that continually inspires us. However much care and expertise we invest, we remain dependent on the Creator. That is why, sometimes, we say that our company could just as well be called Soli Deo Plants B.V. , because all glory belongs to God alone.
